The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT
- Revisit a few topics from last meeting.
VICE PRESIDENT’S REPORT
- Applied for the Lowe’s Grant on March 20. Expecting feedback this summer. Will continue to look for more community grants to help with revamping, adding to, or improving the playscapes in North and South Parks.
SECRETARY’S REPORT
No report.
TREASURER’S REPORT
- 26 houses left to pay dues (letters went out April 14; due April 30 before we walk).
- Will continue to follow up with Canton Township for clarification on the bill for “removal or replacing” of sidewalks. Still have questions. The bill is not due until September. We already have the funds set aside for small roads work (which we no longer need to pay for).
- Reaching back out again in April; no response from the city yet.

BY-LAWS REPORT
No report.
BEAUTIFICATION REPORT
- Will apply non-toxic weed killer in the playscape areas when the weeds start to sprout.
- Lawn was a 2-year contract for 2025 and 2026 only. Will get new bids this year with the same requirements.
- No new wood chips for the playgrounds this year.
- Start gathering quotes for the new Barchester Entry Island neighborhood sign.
- Spring cleanup: Next meeting we will pick dates for South Park and Barchester Entry Island Clean-Up. Also plan to replace the rose bushes at the ends of the entry island.
- Clean up, paint metal, or power wash the playscapes (Stacey to call Charlie about cost).
WELCOMING REPORT
- 6332 Courtland – done.
- 6158 Courtland – done.
SOCIAL MEDIA / WEBSITE REPORT
- Will email blast and post the new Transportation Safety Action Plan. Residents are encouraged to take the survey at: www.cantonmi.gov/1531. DONE.
MEMBER AT LARGE REPORT
- Suggested mosquito spraying, prevention, and control in both parks (gather quotes).
- Maybe bat houses? Stacey to look at cost.
NEW BUSINESS
- Food truck: Your Neighborhood Hood Bites, once a month – Stacey to contact.
- Look into stop signs with flashing red lights for Hanford Road (Township or Wayne County?). Solar Flashing LED Retrofit Kits for Stop Signs are available online ranging from $699 to $1,599. Out of 2026 budgets.
OLD BUSINESS
- Began reviewing and budgeting for the Future Projects/Events/Ideas list.
- Continue saving for new playscapes in both North and South Parks.
- Sign Toppers.
